I do not remember the last time I walked to the dentist as its been a while ago. This is not just my story but of many in the nation. The reason is not that the people are enjoying good oral health but the fact is they are not concerned about their oral health status. There is typical mentality of most of the people, which states - "General dental problems will not turn into anything furious". However, there is no logic behind this imperfect mentality. The fact is general health problems leads to serious oral and other health hazards.
Association of Dentist Tysons Corner, VA is really working hard to improve the oral health status of the people as they have some surprising figures regarding the oral health issues of the people. We observed the people walking to the dentists, and what we found was shocking to us. Some facts that we collected from our observation are as follows:
Nearly 90 percent of the people walking to the dentists were found with serious dental problems. When we asked to the dentists regarding their oral health, they said - "It could have been better, if they have visited us at the time the problem started".
We found only 7 percent people who regularly walk to the dentist. This also indicates that other only visit the dentist in Tysons Corner VA, when they have any serious issue.
When asked to the people, why you have not visited earlier - "80 percent of them said that we thought that it is not a major issue".
With such weak concern about the oral health in society, it is not possible to achieve the ‘oral health perfection’ goal. If the set goal has to be achieved, the people must change their perception about the dental related problems.
